The ICAgile Certified Professional – Agile Product Ownership (ICP-APO) certification focuses on value-driven delivery, the accompanying mindset, and key agile practices designed to emphasize value. It also looks at creating organizational and team environments conducive to frequent and transparent collaboration between the business and development teams. The learning objectives highlight specific techniques and practices such as lightweight requirements, prioritization methods, progressive elaboration, product/project road-mapping, story mapping, effective user stories, and acceptance criteria. Participants who successfully complete this certification will gain an excellent foundation in value-based Agile solutions delivery plus a world-class qualification.

Prerequisites

Intended participants should have either completed the ICP (Agile Certified Professional) course or some other Agile fundamentals course. Alternatively, participants should have spent some time as an Agile team member.

Target Audience

Relevant roles include Business Analysts, Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Subject Matter Experts, Agile Team Leaders, ScrumMasters / Iteration Managers, or anyone aspiring to these roles. This course will also relate to leadership teams who wish to see how they can assist teams to deliver value. Also, anyone with a curiosity about agile approaches to value-driven software delivery will benefit from this certification.

How this course is run

Taken as a 2-day class, courses start at 9 am and go until 5 pm each day. There is no exam at the end of the course, but participants are awarded certification from the ICAgile Accredited instructor.

Criteria for certification will be the attendance, involvement, learning, and understanding of the principles of the Agile Business Value Analysis materials over the two days.

The course will take a case study in groups to progressively build on the case over the two days implementing the learnings as we go. This will result in a wall of information and progressive project work that you can take a picture of to show your teams.

Participants have described this as: “Fun; loud; disruptive; intense; sometimes chaotic learning; and lots and lots of sticky notes”.

All material is provided including in booklet form the slides where you can make notes and highlight areas, plus a set of reading materials at the back that goes into slightly deeper details on various subjects.

Open discussion is encouraged and participants can ask specific questions on their own issues where discussions may vary with results that they can take back with them.
