AGILE FOR TEAMS

A Masterclass in Practical Agile

Designed for companies wanting to deliver value
Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, once said: “In the new world, it is no longer the big fish that eats the small fish, it’s the FAST FISH that beats the SLOW FISH”.
The immense difference in accelerated delivery that organisations gain when migrating their teams to an Agile way of working can be staggering to see. This has shown up in a success rate of projects from 11% to 39% and reducing the failure rate from  29% to just 9% (Standish report of over 10,000 projects from 2011 to 2015).
The 11th annual State Of Agile Report shows the top benefits that respondents report from agile adoption include: Accelerate product delivery; Enhanced ability to manage changing priorities; Increased productivity along with enhanced quality; Improved business/IT alignment; reduced project risk; enhanced project predictability; and Improved team moral.
This course is designed for businesses who want to take those advantages to accelerate their productivity. The first step is to talk to us – Click here to contact me.

Perhaps the next step in transforming your business is to get everyone on the same page – training.

Course Description:

3-day training course – minimum of 4 attendees
AGILE FOR TEAMS has been built for companies on their migration path towards improvement. This is not a specific Scrum, SAFe, DevOps, or XP flavoured course, although we touch briefly on them all. This is an agile team course that allows your team to deliver continuous value to your organisation no matter what the framework is best for each team. See this brief blog for an introduction on what changes we aim to achieve in this course.
Based on the internationally recognised ICAgile courses, this course will give your teams the tools and knowledge to not only truly understand Agile, but to take that understanding back to your organisation and make a difference. There will be enough time in the course to discuss your specific individual organisation and how they might look to implement the agile mindset to make the most of  your situation.
Not just software, this course will concentrate on different ways of working that will produce tangable value for your organisation.
No change can happen until your teams are all on the same page, speaking the same language, heading in the same direction. This needs training. Allow your teams to learn how you can make a difference.
A Certificate of Attendance is awarded to all attendees who paticipate in the full training.
The course delivers the same material from BOTH the ICAgile Certified Professional and the ICAgile Business Value Analyst courses, but taylored to your teams. The ICAgile certifications can be awarded but will require a different approach – talk to me.
Contact us to discuss your needs.

Where this differs

By first speaking to you and understanding your business model, we can taylor this course to your unique situation. Giving you even more value, our trainers can even taylor the course on the fly depending on the discussions. As these courses will be directed to your organisation, the attendees can approach their problems and ideas during the class for discussion. While we are experienced enough to ensure that the training does not get hijacked down any path, we can move and direct those discussions and introduce factors into the class where the feedback shows this is needed.
We will focus on both “how others have resolved these issues” as well as “how will you think you might resolve the issues here at your organisation. In this way the training focuses on all three aspects of: Active Training; Experiential Training; and Coaching; and will be guided by the discussion outcomes.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Intended Audience

AGILE FOR TEAMS is intended for all team members and those working with Agile teams. An Agile team includes all those tasked with building and delivering including the builders/developers, testers, designers, business analysts, project managers and anyone else aligned with delivery.
Not just for software teams: The course can and has been delivered to teams that have nothing to do with either software, product development, or even projects. Our DragonsArm trainers have assisted organisations to move towards a full Agile working model and mindset that increases value and throughput and become more transparent and able to cope with change. This transparency and the way that course attendees work allows the team and the organisation to appreciate the work undertaken, monitor (and have a way to handle) disruptions, and showcase their achievements.
It is appropriate for those new to agile, and for practitioners who recognize the need to focus on “being” agile in addition to “doing” agile. Suitable for entire teams, managers involved in Agile teams, Coaches, and entire organisations undergoing change.

Course Outline

The course will cover the following content and more:

The course will always be adjusted to place specific focus where most needed, but is intended to deliver the learning outcomes from both the Agile Certified Professional and the Agile Product Ownership courses.

How

This is a fun, but intense 3 days of learning. There is no exam at the end, only your active participation and full attendance is required to be presented with the Certificate.

The course is made up of a mixture of training, discussions, active group exercises, and games. Participants get a chance to discuss both hypothetical situations and some items from their own experiences.

The feedback we receive shows that, while the learning and the certifications are important, it is these discussions, group exercises, and the combined experiences of people in different situations that give the extra value to those attending. These experiences cannot be gained from reading or online courses.
