Practical 1:1 support for Australian Scrum Masters

You understand Scrum, and as a Scrum Master you lead by serving the team. But that does not make the leadership side of the role simple.
You may be working out how to build credibility, how to respond when people question your role or authority, how to handle tension in the team, or how to think clearly when delivery pressure starts rising. Whether you are new to the role or already carrying these responsibilities, this session gives you experienced support, practical advice, and clearer next steps.
This is a focused 60-minute advisory session for Australian and New Zealand Scrum Masters who want to handle the people side of the role with more clarity, confidence, and sound judgment.

This may feel familiar

  • You have stepped into a Scrum Master role and want a clearer sense of where your focus should be.
  • You are working out how to build trust and credibility with the team.
  • You are unsure how to respond when someone questions your role, authority, or value.
  • You are dealing with people issues, delivery pressure, or uncertainty about the next move.
  • You want practical advice from someone experienced, not more theory

Who this is for

This is for Australian and New Zealand Scrum Masters who work closely with teams and who take team effectiveness, delivery pressure, communication, and the human side of the role seriously.
Some come because they are new to the role and want to begin well. Others come because they are already in the role and want experienced help thinking through real situations with more clarity and confidence.

What this session helps with

  • Working out what to focus on as a Scrum Master.
  • Building trust, credibility, and useful presence with the team.
  • Handling questions about your role and contribution.
  • Thinking through delivery pressure and competing expectations.
  • Preparing for a difficult conversation or team issue.
  • Getting an experienced outside view on what is really going on.
  • Deciding what matters most and what to do next.

What we do in the session

Clarify the real situation
We sort out what is actually happening, where the pressure sits, and what most needs your attention.
Identify the real challenge
We separate background noise from the real issue, whether that is credibility, communication, delivery tension, conflict, uncertainty, or judgment.
Shape a practical response
We work through the conversations, decisions, and next steps that make sense for your situation.

What you leave with

  • A clearer read on the situation.
  • Better judgment on where to focus.
  • Practical next steps you can put into practice.
  • More confidence in how to handle the issue well.
  • A written follow-up within 48 hours outlining the key points and recommendations, so you have something clear to refer back to and share if needed.

What this is not

  • This is not Scrum training. It is not a certification lesson, and it is not a session on how Scrum works.
  • It is 1:1 support for Scrum Masters who want to handle the real people, team, and judgment side of the role with the benefit of experienced advice.

About Steve Peacocke

The experience behind the advice

I work with Scrum Masters at team level, but the advice I bring comes from many years of leading, teaching, and supporting people across a wide range of environments.
I have helped more than 2,000 people in recent years, lectured at 3 universities across 2 countries, led teams in 6 countries, and worked my own way from technical lead to CIO before choosing to stay close to the real work of teams.
So when a Scrum Master wants help thinking through credibility, delivery pressure, team dynamics, or what to do next, I am not answering from theory alone. I am drawing on experience built in real teams, real organisations, and real leadership situations.
