In the past two years alone, I have personally trained and certified more than 1,500 people in Agile certifications. Our other trainers have also been busy.
I have more than 30 years of experience consulting to organisations in Eight countries on corporate change and am an international best-selling author of the book “Agile Coach to Chief Agility Officer”, a book describing “Agility by Default”.
In 2019 alone, I worked with teams in 13 cities in seven countries. In my career, I have led teams in positions from Software Development Manager, Project and Program Manager, and on to CIO of a mid-sized international company. I am now Internationally recognised as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Trainer and Speaker, and now the CEO of DragonsArm.
DragonsArm focuses on using our real-life experience to guide others so that they understand what makes a great team and how to get there from here. They will become enthused and inspired and gain the knowledge and tools to make a difference.
An example of the impact I have been able to show for a single team:
-
From only 1-3 stories per Sprint before I arrived to mostly getting 12-20 stories in Sprint to Done
-
A flat-lining burndown chart to wonderful burndowns that allowed for daily decision making
-
Eliminated the “On Hold” status for stories completely – stories get to Done
-
Delivering all quarterly commitments for the first time ever, and they did that twice while I was there
-
Changed what was regularly showing as effort that was double or triple the estimates to show delivery close to estimates Sprint after Sprint in the velocity chart after I arrived
-
Daily Stand-ups went from 30 minutes a day to just 5-7 minutes
-
Backlog Refinement meetings went from 4 hours per week to just 2 x 30-minute sessions per week

Of all the courses I’ve attended in my career, <this> course was one of the best yet! Not only was the content informative and held the right depth for all abilities, Steve was one of the most engaging and professional facilitators I’ve yet seen. His ability to maintain momentum whilst being able to support with real-world examples was impressive. Even when tackled with challenging questions, he was able to draw upon his expertise to explain in a practical and calm way how a scenario may work. I would thoroughly recommend this course for all – Peter

Great fun – enjoyed the hands-on exercises. We were all encouraged to participate. No opinion was considered wrong – a good mix of people – both management and non-management. We were all equals on the day! Thanks Steve, another fun course. – Lisa

I enjoyed hearing from your experience and knowledge. It was great how you related the course materials to many real-life examples from places you’ve previously worked. Your passion for this area truly comes across in how you teach.
